TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- A member of the energy committee of the Iranian parliament underlined the necessity of completing the value chain in production of petrochemicals in Iran, voicing the parliament’s wholehearted support for indigenization of the latest knowhow in the sector.

Kourosh Karampour told NIPNA about the necessity of completing the value chain in the petrochemical sector, adding Iran stands among the top countries in possession of vast oil and gas reserves which can turn into highly value-added items by petrochemical industries.

He said the parliament supports completion of the value chain of the sector, saying, “The industries that produce value-added items must enjoy the full support of the government and parliament given their great impact in weaning the country off oil dollars and bolstering the economy.”
