Speaking to NIPNA on the sidelines of a ceremony held to sign a letter of intent Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) and Royal Dutch Shell here in Tehran on Sunday, Fender said the LoI can pave the ground for enhanced relations between Iranian and British companies and have brought the relations between them to a higher level.
He also said that the British government would support the companies that signal interest in working in Iran.
Fender said Shell enjoys a long history of presence in Iran, adding use of state-of-the-art technologies and investments can be some of the grounds for cooperation between Iranian and British firms.
He also expressed hope that the LoI will lead Shell’s investment in Iran’s energy and petrochemical sectors.
Deputy Head of Mission of the British Embassy in Tehran further underlined NPC’s keenness to attract foreign investment for financing its projects, and said British companies and enterprises will be present in Iran in the future.
However, he said, more talks are needed for enhanced cooperation between Iranian and British firms in Iran.
