Alireza Moniri, CEO of Negin Makran Petrochemical Development Company,
confirmed the successful purging and commissioning of the internal 24-inch gas
pipeline network, allowing natural gas — supplied via Iran’s national seventh
gas trunkline — to flow toward the site’s 183-megawatt power and steam
facility.
“The completion of the gas purging operation marks a critical step
toward igniting the engines of production in the Makran petrochemical complex,”
Moniri stated, describing it as a strategic enabler for the full commissioning
of the plant.
According to Moniri, this development will not only ensure reliable
electricity for the startup of industrial units within the complex, but will
also allow for future injection into the national grid, benefiting the wider
Chabahar region, southeastern Iran.
Since the early stages of the Makran development plan, the company has
prioritized establishing core infrastructure capable of serving both the
industrial complex and the broader local community, he noted.
The CEO highlighted several concurrent initiatives including gas
transmission, seawater desalination from the coastal Ramin area, power
generation, and distribution network expansion — all aimed at fulfilling the
company’s social responsibility goals, generating employment, and improving
living standards across the region.
“The launch of these infrastructure systems, alongside downstream
industrial development and technology transfer, shows that Makran’s progress is
not solely industrial,” Moniri concluded. “It is a broader movement toward a
balanced and sustainable future.”
