TEHRAN (NIPNA) – The state-run National Petrochemical Company (NPC) is planned to invest in a GTPP project in West Islamabad region, western Iran.

According to the NPC CEO, the project is expected to transform the region’s economy and industry while generating jobs.

Behzad Mohammadi stated in a Wednesday meeting of the board of directors of West Islamabad Petrochemical Industries Company that acquiring the technical knowhow for production of polymer from natural gas was a major achievement for the country.

The Petrochemical Research and Technology Company (PRTC) will provide the savvy for construction of the plant whose construction will begin in the near future, he said.

The plant will be launched by the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) as a development organization, he said, adding that all the infrastructure required for building the project was prepared.

The petrochemical industry is privatized in Iran and NPC often serves as a regulatory body in the sector. It normally invests in key infrastructural and utility projects.
