TEHRAN, May 24 (NIPNA) – The Tehran municipality has instructed all city departments and affiliated organizations to actively participate in a national energy efficiency campaign aimed at improving consumption patterns and promoting responsible energy use.

The initiative, launched under a cooperation agreement between the municipality and National Petrochemical Company (NPC), seeks to enhance energy productivity and encourage public engagement in sustainable consumption practices across the capital.

According to city officials, the campaign—titled “Energy Pulse”—will be implemented across Tehran’s 22 municipal districts, with all administrative and operational units required to support awareness, education, and outreach activities.

Mohammad Saber Baghkhani Pour, head of Tehran’s environment and sustainable development department, said the program is designed to align urban management capacity with broader national energy efficiency objectives and strengthen coordination between municipal governance and industrial stakeholders.

He added that the initiative also includes incentive mechanisms to encourage public participation in environmental and social projects related to energy conservation, while emphasizing the role of behavioral change in reducing consumption.

Residents and municipal employees are invited to register for the program through the official campaign platform to access participation benefits and contribute to energy-saving efforts in the city.
