The document, inked by Iranian Petroleum Minister Mohsen Paknejad, heading
the Iranian side, and Sergei Tsivilev, leading the Russian delegation, followed
specialized working group sessions and a final high-level meeting.
It emphasizes expanding economic, trade and technical collaboration
between Tehran and Moscow, delineating executive frameworks for agreements in
energy, oil and gas, petroleum products, transportation, banking and
investment.
During the commission, expert panels reviewed implementation of prior
decisions, deliberated on oil and gas field development, fresh investments,
easing trade exchanges and addressing barriers to joint projects, with outcomes
reflected in the final memorandum.
Iran-Russia economic ties have advanced in recent years, bolstered by
high-level political commitment, with the regular joint commission serving as a
key mechanism for advancing accords.
The signing marks a further stride in fortifying the two nations'
strategic partnership and solidifying operational structures for shared
initiatives.
The 19th commission convened in Tehran starting Monday, featuring 17
specialized working groups over the preceding two days for sector-specific
discussions.
