Speaking at the signing of an energy efficiency MoU at the “Energy Cycle”
exhibition, Abbaszadeh highlighted that while Iran’s electricity generation
relies heavily on hydrocarbons, inefficiencies in power plants reduce the
availability of energy that could otherwise be used in petrochemical
production.
He noted that enhancing energy efficiency and allocating feedstock
effectively could increase economic output, create jobs, and improve national
value-added in the petrochemical sector.
