Speaking at a two-day specialized HSE managers’ conference, Abbaszadeh
said company executives must maintain full oversight of HSE matters alongside
their technical responsibilities and provide necessary support to safety teams.
“Preventive and proactive measures taken by HSE staff prior to the
recent 12-day conflict played a crucial role in enabling management and crisis
teams to implement control measures and reduce potential impacts,” he said.
Abbaszadeh stressed that lessons learned in recent years require
greater managerial focus on safety, health, environmental protection, and
passive defense. He called for initiatives to be tailored to identified
challenges and organizational needs, with implementation led by company CEOs.
He also described HSE as a matter of governance, asserting that
decisions in this field should be made in a coordinated manner aligned with
national interests.
The two-day conference, held from Dec. 23–24, brought together HSE
directors from the Ministry of Petroleum, NPC, and various petrochemical
holdings and companies, focusing on HSE and passive defense management.
