The agreement, signed in the presence of the deputy technology
minister of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology at Khuzestan’s
provincial office, aims to provide a structured framework for implementing
R&D initiatives and leveraging tax incentives under Article 11 of the
Knowledge-Based Production Leap Law.
Under the MoU, the two sides will collaborate on identifying and
defining R&D projects, addressing technology needs of companies within the
petrochemical zone, utilizing knowledge-based companies, and developing
innovation infrastructure such as innovation centers, fab labs, and
laboratories.
The Khuzestan Science and Technology Park will also be responsible for
introducing capable tech companies, providing technical and legal consultation,
screening relevant knowledge-based firms, monitoring project progress, and
organizing specialized events to present technology needs.
Meanwhile, the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization will
outline its technological priorities, manage related tax credit processes, and
create investment opportunities to benefit from provisions under Article 11.
The three-year agreement, designed to advance new technologies and
strengthen industry-innovation linkages, may be extended with mutual consent.
