Ebrahim Sheikh, Deputy Minister for General Industries at MIMT, said
joint efforts between the two ministries to establish industrial units linked
to the agricultural fertilizer chain would help promote sustainable development
and job creation.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the first Shiraz Expo 2025,
Sheikh highlighted Fars province’s strong position in industry and trade,
noting that the region’s exports and industrial activity have shown solid
growth.
“In the first half of this year, Fars recorded exports worth over $32
million, representing a 10% increase in volume and a 6% rise in value compared
to last year,” he said. “While national exports have remained nearly unchanged,
Fars continues to outperform.”
The deputy minister said the province offers considerable potential
for both domestic and foreign investment. “We hope the presence of
industrialists, international investors and business leaders in Fars will pave
the way for further success,” he said.
Sheikh added that more than 156 industrial projects in the province,
each with over 80% progress and collectively creating about 6,000 jobs, are
expected to be completed by the end of the year.
He expressed hope that Shiraz Expo 2025 would become “a lasting
symbol of synergy, cooperation and mutual trust” between Iran’s industrial and
commercial sectors.
