TEHRAN (NIPNA) – Iranian technology start-ups and polymer equipment makers say the IranPlast exhibition is giving younger firms vital exposure, helping them to build their brands and secure a foothold in the domestic market despite export hurdles.

Nasser Najarian, chief executive of Viratech Bartar Fars – a knowledge-based company founded in 2021 by engineering students from Semnan province – said IranPlast was “the biggest plastics industry event in Iran” and essential for showcasing new achievements.
“Such exhibitions make brands like ours more visible and allow us to use the platform for branding,” Najarian told reporters on the closing day of the 19th edition of the event in Tehran.
Viratech specializes in designing plastic injection molds, thin-wall molds for disposable containers, and robotics systems for polymer industries. The company, which started with three employees, now has 60 direct staff and a network of indirect workers. It also develops production management and monitoring systems integrating hardware and software to provide real-time data to manufacturers.
The firm has participated in IranPlast since its founding and reports quadrupling sales annually. Najarian said it is now seeking knowledge-based certification for its artificial intelligence product, while maintaining focus on the domestic market despite having exported to Oman.
He said Iranian exhibitors would benefit from greater foreign participation to match events such as ArabPlast in Saudi Arabia or EurasiaPlast in Turkey. “Foreign presence raises the credibility of an exhibition,” he said, adding that attracting audiences beyond traders from Afghanistan and Iraq would help IranPlast reach the next level.
