The move is aimed at ensuring stable domestic supply of the key
chemical and reducing reliance on imports, the company’s public relations
office said in a statement.
The launch follows the receipt of a sanitary establishment and
operation license, an international registration code (IRC) from the Food and
Drug Administration, and a mandatory quality certification from the National
Standards Organization.
Sodium hypochlorite is widely used as an oxidizing and disinfecting
agent. In water and wastewater treatment, it is considered a safer alternative
to chlorine for eliminating microorganisms and disinfecting pipelines and
reservoirs.
The chemical is also used in textile bleaching, pulp and paper
production, petrochemical refining processes, and as an anti-fouling agent in
cooling towers to prevent algae and shell growth. In the healthcare sector, it
is employed to disinfect hospital surfaces and equipment, while the food
industry uses it to sanitize production lines. Swimming pools rely on it for
water disinfection and odor control.
The company said trading the product on the IME would improve pricing
transparency, strengthen distribution channels, and guarantee downstream
industries access to a reliable and standardized source of sodium hypochlorite.
