Speaking at a briefing session for the 29th Iran International Oil,
Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, Seyed Ali-Mohammad Mousavi
underscored the event’s pivotal role as a regional energy hub and global
dialogue platform. The exhibition, scheduled to take place from May 8 to 11,
2025, is expected to attract a wide array of diplomats, trade envoys, and
foreign investors.
“This exhibition is not only the largest energy marketplace in West
Asia but also a foundation for idea exchange and a driver of the global energy
outlook,” Mousavi said, addressing ambassadors, trade counselors, and economic
representatives.
He emphasized that the event has served as a cornerstone of Iran’s
energy diplomacy for nearly three decades, offering a venue for both technical
cooperation and political dialogue. As one of the world’s leading nations in
oil and gas reserves, Iran is actively seeking foreign investment and
modernization of its energy infrastructure.
Focus on Technology and Investment
Mousavi pointed to recent Ministry of Petroleum initiatives aimed at
leveraging advanced technologies across upstream, midstream, and downstream
sectors. “Our goal is to establish a transparent and stable environment for
international investors,” he said, noting that key projects—such as oil and gas
field development—would be offered under updated financial frameworks,
including Iran Petroleum Contracts (IPCs).
He also introduced several specialized conferences to be held during
the exhibition, emphasizing their strategic role in outlining investment
horizons and facilitating technical partnerships. Among them is the
"Transformation in Investment and Financing of NIOC Projects"
conference, which he said would provide unique avenues for joint ventures and
targeted cooperation.
Bridge for Peace and Progress
Reaffirming Iran’s position as a reliable partner in the global energy
market, Mousavi said the country is expanding its footprint in areas such as
petrochemicals, renewable energy, and hydrogen technologies.
“This exhibition is not just about commerce,” he said. “It’s a bridge
for mutual understanding and sustainable cooperation—aligning economic and
environmental objectives.”
He concluded by inviting governments, corporations, and research
institutions to actively participate in shaping the future of global energy
through engagement at the Tehran Oil Show.
