Behzad
Mohammadi said on Wednesday that such projects played key roles in preventing flaring
gas in petroleum operating areas.
He told a
meeting with executives of Khark Petrochemical Plant that completion of the value
chain in the facility was an indication of the plant’s integrated management.
Mohammadi said
that 220 mcf/d of gas was flared in Forouzan Field, adding plans were underway
to prevent gas flaring in the facility.
Khark Petrochemical
Plant is the second oldest petrochemical facility in Iran after Marvdasht.
Iran will
launch 21 petrochemical projects by 2021 and complete another 26 projects by
2025.
Khark NGL
and Methanol II projects are to be launched in the second leap of the industry
by 2025.
Iran’s petrochemical
production capacity is expected to reach 130 million tons per year by 2025.
