Mohammad Javad Badri told reporters on Saturday that the complex had 3
units of methanol, citric acid and carbon monoxide which yielded a total of 1.1
million tons of products last calendar year.
Noting that the growth of petrochemical industry could shrink the
country’s vulnerability to the sanctions, he said, "In our complex, we
changed our production strategy and outlook of 2017… and achieved sustainable
production, profitability, safe production and optimal consumption.”
According to Badri, the company is currently selling 80 percent of its
output on international markets.
Last calendar year, Fanavaran Petrochemical Company’s sale rose 13%
from the preceding year, he added, saying that production also rose by 9% in
the year.
Moreover, the value of the company’s exports rose by 118% in the same
year while the volume of the exports saw an 18% growth.
