During a
visit to the plant, Mr. Mohammadi said the project was one of the most important
projects in Iran’s petrochemical industry, adding it would be fed by Bidboland
II Gas Refinery which is to come on-stream next Iranian calendar year beginning
on March 21.
He said four
other petrochemical projects were under way which would be fed by the items
produced at the Gachsaran facility.
Mohammadi,
who is also deputy petroleum minister in petrochemical affairs, further
expressed optimism that the financial issued facing the project would be
resolved by more support from the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company
(PGPIC).
An investment
of €424.7 million and Rls. 7,165.2 billion has been made in the project which has
so far made 59 percent progress and is planned to come on-stream by 2021.
