Speaking to NIPNA, Abdol Hossein Bayat, deputy managing director of the NPC in the West Ethylene Pipeline project, said the showcase is a golden opportunity for displaying Iran’s prowess in different sectors of the industry to the world.
“This is a golden opportunity for sharing the country’s industrial capabilities with global leaders of the sector and introducing investment opportunities in Iran to them,” he said.
Bayat further said there is 12-million-ton differential between Iran’s annual petrochemical production capacity and output which can be tapped by supplying more feedstock to petrochemical facilities.
Furthermore, lack of state-of-the-art technologies is another reason for creation of such a huge production differential in Iran’s petrochemical sector.
Last year Iran supplied 50 million tons of petrochemicals while its facilities enjoy an installed capacity of 63 million tons per year.
