Ansari, accompanied by Mohammad-Reza Motiri, managing director of the
Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization, toured Fajr Energy’s industrial
wastewater treatment facilities.
The visit focused on the treatment of industrial and sanitary
wastewater, the management and recycling of treated effluent, and measures to
monitor and control environmental pollutants.
Fajr Energy, which operates wastewater-treatment units, plays a key
role in managing wastewater generated by petrochemical complexes located in the
special economic zone.
Company officials also briefed Ansari on measures covering waste
management, continuous monitoring of wastewater and air emissions, reductions
in water consumption and environmental improvement projects.
Damage from recent conflict
Ansari also inspected sections of Fajr Energy that were damaged during
the recent conflict and was briefed on the extent of the damage sustained by
the facility.
The head of Iran’s Department of Environment pledged the agency’s
cooperation within its regulatory authority to help accelerate environmental
measures and facilitate the restart of damaged sections of the company.
The visit highlights the growing focus on wastewater recycling,
emissions monitoring and water efficiency across Iran’s petrochemical industry,
as producers seek to maintain operations while addressing environmental
constraints.
