Seyyed Mohammad Hashemikia, CEO of Petrofarhang Holding, announced on
Saturday that the project operations are being executed via its subsidiary,
Iranian Power Process Management Company (MEFNA), to mitigate national grid
deficits and secure reliable industrial power.
Overview of Planned Power Projects
The three projects encompass both solar and thermal generation assets:
- Mahan
1 Solar Power Plant (10 MW): EPC contracts have been finalized and solar
PV panel shipments delivered. Construction is underway on a 15-hectare
site in Kerman Province, with commercial operation targeted by the end of
the current fiscal year (March 2027).
- Mahan
2 Solar Power Plant (10 MW): Feasibility and engineering studies are
underway for a second 10 MW solar facility in Kerman Province.
- Gas-Fired
Power Plant (25 MW): Engineering design and planning have
commenced to add 25 MW of thermal generation capacity.
Operational Footprint & Long-Term Renewables Target
MEFNA currently operates three existing power plants delivering over
45 MW to Iran’s national grid. Commissioning the three new facilities will
double total operating capacity to 90 MW.
Looking further ahead, Petrofarhang Holding has established a
strategic four-year development target to build 400 MW of solar power
capacity, supporting national initiatives to expand renewable energy
generation and stabilize power supplies for petrochemical and downstream
industrial assets.
