The authorization was issued on June 22 and is intended to implement
an agreement signed between Iran and the United States on June 18, the report
said.
Under the terms described in the authorization, buyers may make
payments for Iranian crude oil, petroleum products, petrochemical products,
transportation services, and insurance in U.S. dollars.
The measure was announced following discussions between Iranian and
U.S. representatives held in Switzerland on June 21, according to the report.
The authorization covers a range of activities related to the
production, sale, transportation, and discharge of Iranian crude oil, petroleum
products, and petrochemical cargoes. It also includes operational services
associated with maritime transport, such as tanker management, crew services,
marine fuel supply, port guidance, vessel registration, flag administration,
insurance, classification, emergency repairs, environmental protection measures,
and salvage operations.
The report stated that restrictions previously applied to purchasers
of Iranian oil would be lifted under the authorization.
The development could facilitate commercial activity across segments
of Iran’s energy value chain, including crude oil, refined products,
petrochemicals, shipping, and related service providers during the
authorization period.
