Ali Rabbani, head of energy optimization at NPC, said the “Energy
Pulse” initiative is expected to save around 700 million cubic meters of gas in
2026 through broader public participation, with additional reductions from
efficiency projects in agriculture, industry, brick production, and power
generation bringing the total above one billion cubic meters.
He said participation in the campaign has reached roughly 450,000
households, with financial incentives linked to reduced consumption behavior
across different tariff categories. Total credited rewards have exceeded 35
billion tomans, which participants can withdraw or allocate to social and
charitable initiatives.
Rabbani said the program also includes social impact components,
including the provision of mobility aids such as wheelchairs for children with
disabilities, as well as environmental projects like forest restoration and
emergency relief support.
He added that measured results from previous years indicate
significant gas savings, including several hundred million cubic meters
annually, supported by behavioral changes and technical optimization measures
across different consumer segments.
The official said long-term goals focus on shifting energy consumption
patterns toward efficiency and awareness, while expanding cooperation with
industrial sectors and utilities to improve overall energy productivity across
the economy.
