TEHRAN, May 24 (NIPNA) – The chief executive of Nouri Petrochemical Company said the country’s first Euro 6 diesel production project has been completed and is ready for commissioning, marking a milestone in upgrading heavy hydrocarbon processing capacity.

Ghollahreza Jamshidi said the desulfurization and upgrading project for heavy hydrocarbon streams, designed to produce Euro 6-standard diesel, is the first of its kind in Iran and has been implemented with a high level of domestic manufacturing content.

He said around 70% of the equipment used in the project was produced locally, reflecting increased domestic capability in petrochemical engineering and industrial fabrication.

Jamshidi also reported that the company achieved record production and sales performance in the previous year, ranking first in both domestic and export volume among Iran’s petrochemical producers, with significant year-on-year growth in sales.

He added that the company’s development strategy focuses on digitalization, energy efficiency, and optimization of resource use, alongside efforts to improve operational performance and financial management.

The executive noted that petrochemical production remains a key component of Iran’s economic infrastructure, and said the company recently received an industry excellence award based on international evaluation standards.
