In a message delivered to a memorial ceremony honoring employees of Persian
Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company who were killed during the third imposed
war, Pezeshkian said the country’s petrochemical workforce had played a
critical role in preventing disruptions to national production and economic
activity during the conflict.
The ceremony was held at the National Petrochemical Company
headquarters in Tehran and attended by families of the victims as well as
senior petrochemical industry officials.
“The distinguished martyrs of the petrochemical industry proved that
resistance on the production front during wartime is a clear manifestation of
sacred struggle,” the president said in his message.
Pezeshkian said Iran’s economic infrastructure and strategic
industries had been targeted after the failure of American and Zionist enemies
to achieve their broader objectives.
He praised workers in the oil and petrochemical sectors for continuing
operations despite the risks, saying their efforts ensured that “the movement
of production and the cycle of the national economy did not stop.”
The president described the fallen workers as symbols of sacrifice,
resilience and national self-reliance, adding that Iran’s industrial and
economic progress would continue through the efforts of domestic specialists
and workers.
“Today’s strength of the Islamic Republic is rooted in the culture of
sacrifice, self-confidence and public resistance,” Pezeshkian said.
He also emphasized the importance of honoring the families of those
killed, calling their recognition “a renewal of commitment to the values upon
which Iran’s dignity, security and progress are built.”
The message reflected broader official efforts to frame continuity of
industrial production during wartime conditions as part of Iran’s national
resilience strategy, particularly in strategically important sectors such as
oil, gas and petrochemicals.
