TEHRAN, May 18 (NIPNA) – Iran’s Petroleum Ministry spokesman called for greater public recognition and documentation of the oil sector’s performance during recent wartime conditions, praising employees across the industry for maintaining uninterrupted energy supplies under extremely challenging circumstances.

Saman Ghoddoosi, director general of public relations and spokesman for the Ministry of Petroleum, said workers in the upstream, refining, fuel distribution, gas and petrochemical sectors prevented any disruption to the country’s energy supply during the recent 40-day conflict period.

Speaking at a specialized meeting of public relations heads from the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company held on the occasion of Communications Week and Public Relations Day, Ghoddoosi described the efforts of oil sector employees as “part of the proud history of Iran’s oil industry.”

“Employees of the oil industry, through round-the-clock efforts and jihad-style management under the most difficult conditions, did not allow even the smallest disruption in the country’s energy supply,” he said.

He added that the achievements and sacrifices of industry personnel should be properly narrated, documented and preserved for public awareness.

During the meeting, Fatemeh Kahi, head of public relations at the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, emphasized the growing strategic role of public relations in the energy sector.

“In today’s world, where public opinion forms at unprecedented speed, public relations departments are not merely narrators of organizational achievements,” Kahi said. “They also serve as guardians of public trust, social capital and institutional credibility.”

She said transparent communication, intelligent information management and stronger internal communications remain among the key responsibilities of public relations divisions within the sector.

Kahi also presented a report on the organization’s public relations performance during the Iranian year 1404 and thanked communications personnel across headquarters, refining subsidiaries, provincial fuel distribution units and the Iran Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company for their work during the 12-day war and the third imposed war.

The meeting concluded with a videoconference session involving communications managers from refining companies, during which industry veterans and public relations personnel discussed professional challenges and proposals for strengthening media and communications operations across Iran’s refining and fuel distribution network.
