Speaking at a meeting with
members of the Parliament’s Economic Commission hosted by NPC, Abbaszadeh
emphasized that new strategies for the balanced development of the industry,
coupled with a clear definition of relationships between petrochemical projects
and complexes, would foster greater synergy across all industry stakeholders.
Abbaszadeh expressed
gratitude for the parliament’s support of the petrochemical sector and provided
an overview of incidents affecting petrochemical complexes during the “Third
Sacred Defense War” – a reference to Iran’s conflict with Iraq in the 1980s.
Members of the Economic Commission subsequently shared their perspectives and
opinions.
The finalization of the
NPC’s articles of association by a joint energy and industry commission in
parliament was highlighted as a crucial step. Abbaszadeh believes the official
issuance of these articles will pave the way for increased convergence among
petrochemical industry actors, enabling NPC to more effectively fulfill its
regulatory and supportive roles.
Concluding his remarks, the
Deputy Oil Minister pointed to ongoing programs and interactions between the
Ministry of Oil, the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, and other relevant
bodies aimed at supplying the needs of downstream industries. He reiterated
that through cooperation between the government and the parliament, the
requirements of various industries can be met.
