TEHRAN, April 7 (NIPNA) – The National Petrochemical Company (NPC) believes recent attacks on auxiliary facilities were intended to exert greater pressure on the public and disrupt essential supplies, according to Saeed Baghbani, the company’s production control manager.

Speaking on state television on Monday, Baghbani stated that facilities in the Mahshahr region were targeted on Saturday, April 4, and those in Asaluyeh on April 6.

He described the attacks as the work of an enemy “not bound by any rules.”

Baghbani confirmed that emergency and safety measures were being implemented in Asaluyeh, expressing confidence that normal operations would be restored soon.

He characterized the damage to auxiliary facilities as a blow to the entire petrochemical industry, aiming to hinder Iran’s petrochemical sector and create challenges for public needs.

He urged citizens to conserve energy, including electricity, gas, gasoline, and diesel, suggesting that such measures could thwart the enemy’s intentions.

Baghbani emphasized the importance of public support for the industry, stating that the populace’s backing was a key differentiator from the adversary.

“The enemy knows that we will ultimately rebuild and resolve the problem,” he said, adding that the attacks were aimed at pressuring the country, particularly the Ministry of Petroleum, by targeting energy carriers.
