TEHRAN, Feb. 18 (NIPNA) – Russia's energy minister said on Wednesday that a comprehensive presidential accord and recent expert talks have set the stage for a new cooperation protocol, ushering Tehran-Moscow relations into a fresh phase.

Sergei Tsivilev, addressing the official session of the 19th Iran-Russia Joint Economic Cooperation Commission, noted extensive online dialogues between the sides, yielding positive strides in partnership expansion.

He highlighted a May 15, 2025, pact with Eurasia as a milestone in bolstering economic bonds.

Tsivilev also cited the Oct. 2, 2025, all-encompassing agreement between the nations' presidents, establishing a vital framework for deepening bilateral ties and smoothing strategic relations.

With specialized working groups intensively reviewing diverse issues over the past two days, he said a final wrap-up would occur that day, culminating in the joint protocol's signing.

As the collaboration nears its 20th anniversary, Tsivilev added, the next meeting in Russia would strive for the utmost seniority.
