TEHRAN, Monday — The Petrochemical Research and Technology Company (PRTC) is prepared to cooperate with petrochemical developments in Iran’s Makran region, its chief executive said during a visit to the area.

Mohammad Kermani, managing director of the company, toured Makran and Jask as part of efforts to align with the strategic policies of the National Petrochemical Company and to provide research and technological support for projects under construction in what officials describe as Iran’s third petrochemical hub.

The visit included a review of several petrochemical, petro-refining and infrastructure projects being developed along the Makran coastline, a region seen as central to the future expansion of Iran’s petrochemical industry and its maritime-oriented economic strategy.

During the trip, Kermani met executives from Negine Makran Development Company to discuss project progress and potential areas of collaboration.

He highlighted the company’s capabilities in technology development, training and capacity building for local human resources, emphasising the importance of developing skilled and specialised personnel to ensure the sustainability and long-term growth of the industry in the region.

The visit underscores the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company’s focus on localisation of technical know-how, sustainable development and improving efficiency across Iran’s petrochemical sector, the report said.
