TEHRAN, Feb. 16 (NIPNA) -- Iran and Russia began the 19th session of their Joint Economic Commission in Tehran on Monday, with officials set to review cooperation across energy, trade, finance and transport.

The meetings, held at the Koushk International Conference Center, will run through Wednesday, according to reports by SHANA.

A broad agenda includes discussions on completing the International North–South Transport Corridor, potential Russian gas transfers to Iran, and expanding collaboration in space industries, nuclear energy, banking, customs, mining, agriculture, healthcare, culture, tourism, science and technology.

Expert-level sessions are scheduled for the first two days, with specialists from both countries tasked with addressing outstanding issues and drafting a final memorandum of understanding.

The document is expected to be signed on the closing day by Iran’s Petroleum Minister Mohsen Paknejad and Russia’s Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev.

Officials said the commission provides a platform to resolve challenges, deepen economic ties and outline a roadmap for future cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.

The previous session of the commission was held in Moscow earlier this year.
