TEHRAN, Feb 15 (NIPNA) - A 164-megawatt power generation unit at Iran's Fajr Energy Persian Gulf Company has successfully returned to operation following a major overhaul that emphasized domestically produced parts, bolstering the stability of utility supplies for regional petrochemical complexes, the company said.

Unit 11 at the Area 2 power plant underwent extensive repairs focused on localizing components through Iranian manufacturers, reducing foreign currency dependency and strengthening the domestic supply chain, according to a statement from Fajr Energy's public relations office, as reported by petrochemical news agency NIPNA.

Key elements of the project included the design and production of compressor blades and turbine insulators by local firms, which facilitated technology transfer and advanced industrial self-reliance.

The overhaul also involved comprehensive renovation of core turbine sections by the company's maintenance team, supported by balancing service providers, addressing vibration sources and enhancing dynamic performance to improve equipment reliability and operational stability.

The unit's reinstatement ensures more consistent provision of essential utilities, supporting uninterrupted production across petrochemical facilities in the area.
