TEHRAN, Feb. 10 (NIPNA) – Iran’s Petroleum Minister Mohsen Paknejad marked the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution by emphasizing the strategic role of the country’s oil industry in countering foreign pressures and enhancing economic resilience.

Paknejad congratulated oil sector employees and underlined the importance of national unity, strengthening domestic capabilities, and maximizing the use of human capital.

“The oil industry, as a cornerstone of our national economy and a strategic pillar of national power, plays a decisive role in safeguarding the country’s interests,” he said. “Committed and skilled employees, relying on domestic knowledge, have ensured production continuity, energy security, and service provision even in the most challenging conditions—demonstrating our national capabilities.”

Paknejad stressed that with rising foreign pressures and targeted threats from some Western powers, notably the United States and Israel, protecting national interests and maintaining economic strength have become more critical than ever. He called for collective action and public participation to reinforce national solidarity, counter adversarial intentions, and project Iran’s independence and resilience to the international community.

He concluded by reaffirming the industry’s central role in mitigating external pressures, expressing hope that strengthened cohesion and human capital development will continue to advance Iran’s strategic and economic objectives.
