TEHRAN, Dec 15 (NIPNA) — Iran’s Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company (BIPC) has conducted a combined tabletop and field emergency response drill aimed at improving coordination and decision-making under crisis conditions, the company said on Monday.

The exercise, held during the third quarter of the current year, involved the complex’s passive defence team and an ICT operations group.

The drill was designed to enhance preparedness for emergency situations, strengthen coordination among incident command team members, familiarise staff with crisis management roles and procedures, and improve emergency response systems.

It was based on a simulated scenario involving rising storage tank levels due to increased feedstock inflows from upstream units and reduced consumption at NF 1, 2 and 3 units. The exercise assessed decision-making processes, internal communications, inter-unit coordination and operational responses.

The scenario was modelled on real incidents to place managers and technical experts in hypothetical crisis conditions, allowing them to identify operational strengths and weaknesses and improve preventive and anticipatory measures, the statement said.
