According to the company’s public relations
office, the commissioning phase officially started on Tuesday, November 11,
with Mahdavi and senior technical teams in attendance. The process marks a
major milestone that brings the complex closer to its final stage of full
operation.
“The start-up of the ethylene unit is the result
of years of scientific effort, engineering excellence, and the unwavering
dedication of our committed staff, supported by our shareholders,” Mahdavi said
at the ceremony. “This phase represents a turning point toward achieving
sustainable ethylene production and advancing the country’s petrochemical value
chain.”
He added that all commissioning stages are
expected to be completed in the coming days, after which the ethylene unit will
reach its nameplate capacity and begin regular production.
The commissioning of the Bushehr Petrochemical
ethylene unit is seen as a significant stride toward balanced industrial
growth, greater self-sufficiency, and the consolidation of Iran’s position in
the global petrochemical supply chain.
