TEHRAN, Oct. 22 (NIPNA) – Pardis Petrochemical Co., one of Iran’s leading urea and ammonia producers, has been commended by the Iranian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance for its social responsibility initiatives, including efforts to prevent the imprisonment of debt offenders in Bushehr Province, state media reported on Wednesday.

Mehdi Ghomssarian, the ministry’s representative and head of the Central Insurance Compensation Fund, visited the company and praised its cooperation with the fund in settling compensation debts related to road accident cases.

“In the first phase of our joint program with Pardis Petrochemical, 60 cases involving traffic accident offenders in Bushehr were resolved,” Ghomssarian said. “Many of these individuals came from low-income backgrounds, with total compensation debts exceeding 1.2 billion tomans. Through this collaboration, their imprisonment was prevented.”

He added that the province still has over 1,000 individuals with outstanding blood money debts, around 80 of whom belong to low-income groups. Ghomssarian expressed hope that the initiative would serve as a model of cross-sector cooperation in corporate social responsibility across Iran’s industrial landscape.

Abdolrahim Ghanbarian, CEO of Pardis Petrochemical, said the company views community support as an integral part of its mission alongside its industrial operations. “Beyond our economic role, we are committed to improving local infrastructure, supporting vulnerable groups, and enhancing the quality of life in surrounding communities,” he said.

Ghanbarian noted that during Eid al-Fitr earlier this year, the company joined efforts to pay the debts of individuals at risk of imprisonment due to financial hardship. “Our goal goes beyond fulfilling obligations—it is about upholding human dignity and fostering compassion and solidarity in society,” he said.

In a formal commendation presented to Ghanbarian, the Insurance Compensation Fund acknowledged Pardis Petrochemical’s “valuable contribution to social responsibility, its proactive role in accident prevention programs in Bushehr, and its humanitarian approach to promoting social security and welfare.”

Pardis Petrochemical, a subsidiary of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (PGPIC), continues to align its industrial growth with social engagement, seeking to promote empathy, justice, and hope within the communities in which it operates.
