Ali Rabani, NPC’s Energy Optimization Director,
highlighted the initiative during the fourth working group session on methanol
plant energy efficiency, hosted by Zagros Petrochemical Company in Assaluyeh.
Representatives from 12 methanol-producing units attended the session.
Rabani said the new system aims to address energy
imbalances, improve efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions. He emphasized that
energy audits every three years and full deployment of the management system
are essential, and that petrochemical companies should leverage all available
resources to implement effective projects and sustain achieved improvements.
“Changing consumption culture requires time and
awareness,” he said, adding that even employees’ families are encouraged to
participate in energy conservation efforts. He also stressed the importance of
carbon certification in energy optimization projects.
The session concluded with technical
presentations from methanol plant energy experts, sharing best practices and
discussing challenges and solutions to improve energy efficiency across the
industry.
