The project, led by Gachsaran Polymer Industries
Company under Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Holding, stood at 49.53%
overall completion and 87.45% in engineering works as of Sept. 12, according to
official figures.
The company expects an additional €15 million and
620 trillion rials in financing to be injected into the project by year-end to
accelerate development.
The venture has also set a record for local
hiring in Iran’s petrochemical sector, with over 800 people currently employed.
About 80% of the workforce is drawn from Gachsaran county and 90% from the
surrounding Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, according to the report.
The heavy polyethylene facility is projected to
come onstream in the second half of 2026, assuming financing remains on track.
