The agreement was signed during the second day of
the 19th IranPlast International Exhibition in Tehran by Mohammadreza Motiri,
PETZONE managing director, and Mohammad Jafarpoor, chief executive of the
Telecommunications Company of Iran.
Under the three-year accord, the two sides will
cooperate on developing and deploying IT and communications infrastructure,
data exchange systems, smart monitoring platforms and digital services across
PETZONE’s industrial and operational sites. The deal also covers joint research
on advanced technologies including 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT) and
fiber-optic networks.
Officials said the initiative aims to strengthen
the digital backbone of Iran’s petrochemical industry, which contributes nearly
30% of the sector’s national output, and aligns with broader goals of advancing
the country’s digital economy.
