In an unannounced visit to the Oil Ministry on
Sunday, Pezeshkian commended Oil Minister and senior officials for their
round-the-clock efforts, stating, “It was you, alongside other segments of
society, who with sound judgment and timely action, foiled the enemy’s plots to
disrupt the country.”
The president credited Iran’s united response —
from its military’s strategic capabilities to the unwavering solidarity of its
people — for breaking the perceived power of Israel. “Missiles played their
part, but the real victory came from national cohesion,” he noted.
Strategic Role of Oil Ministry in Energy Security
Pezeshkian emphasized the strategic role of the
Oil Ministry in managing Iran’s energy production and consumption, stressing the
need for accurate, up-to-date data and stronger inter-agency cooperation to
ensure effective energy planning.
He called for active engagement in attracting
investment, stating that several individuals and entities have expressed
interest in energy sector projects. “We must adopt a proactive approach to
harness this potential,” he said.
The president also urged the ministry to
accelerate the development of clean energy infrastructure, particularly solar
power plants. “Expanding solar energy will reduce reliance on subsidized gas
and diesel, enhance economic efficiency, and boost investor confidence,” he
added.
Energy Management and Anti-Smuggling Measures
Pezeshkian highlighted recent efforts to curb
fuel smuggling and improve energy efficiency, advocating for a
performance-based compensation system and greater participation of operators in
the savings achieved. “This dual approach can significantly enhance the
ministry’s management quality and productivity,” he said.
He also called on ministry officials to prepare
robust strategies for energy consumption management ahead of the winter season.
“Take into account all risks and variables to ensure we avoid an energy
crisis,” he urged.
Diplomacy Over Conflict
While affirming Iran’s military preparedness, the
president reiterated the government’s preference for diplomacy. “We are not
aggressors, nor will we yield to coercion,” he stated, affirming the
administration’s commitment to peace and regional stability through national
unity and international engagement.
Tribute to the Energy Sector Workforce
Pezeshkian concluded by acknowledging the
sacrifices made by workers in the energy sector during the conflict. “What the
people and the oil industry accomplished during those 12 days is historic.
Their courage and dedication cannot be repaid,” he said.
He called for continued recognition of the Oil
Ministry's contributions, commending its employees for their resilience and
service under pressure.
