According to the company’s public information office, urea production
exceeded 167,000 tonnes while ammonia output reached nearly 98,000
tonnes—marking year-on-year increases of 38% and 43%, respectively, despite a
seven-day shutdown at the end of June.
The company, which operates the largest urea and ammonia complex in
western Iran, also saw a sharp rise in revenue. Sales income in the first
quarter totaled more than 18.15 trillion rials (approx. $31 million), up 69%
compared to the same period last year.
In June alone, despite the temporary halt in production, monthly
revenues hit 7.39 trillion rials, a 425-billion-rial increase from June 2024.
Operational efficiency also improved markedly. The urea unit operated
at 138% of nominal capacity, while the ammonia unit reached 143% of capacity,
indicating that recent debottlenecking initiatives under new management have
yielded tangible results.
With an annual production capacity exceeding 1.05 million tonnes,
Kermanshah Petrochemical produces around 2,000 tonnes of granular urea and
1,200 tonnes of ammonia daily, ranking it among the leading producers in Iran’s
petrochemical sector.
