The agreements were inked on the sidelines of the 29th
International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition in Tehran, by
Bandar Imam CEO Sepahdar Ansari-Nik, Shiraz University President Alireza
Afshari-Far, and Iran Telecom CEO Mohammad Jafarpoor, according to the Persian
Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company’s public relations office.
The MoU with Shiraz University focuses on addressing the
company's technological, educational, and research needs, and enhancing
in-house process and technical know-how development. Ansari-Nik emphasized the
importance of academic cooperation given the scale of Bandar Imam’s operations,
calling it a strategic investment in line with Iran’s 2025 slogan: “Investment
for Production.”
“We consider every research initiative with Shiraz
University a direct investment in production,” he said, inviting the
university's researchers to engage actively in problem-solving initiatives
under the new partnership.
Afshari-Far highlighted the university's 80-year legacy and
extensive student and academic capacity. “Bandar Imam Petrochemical is one of
Iran’s key players in value-added petrochemicals,” he said. “We are eager to
contribute our academic strength to advance industrial goals.”
The second MoU, with Iran Telecom, seeks to improve
planning, design, implementation, and operation of advanced digital
infrastructure and technology tools for Bandar Imam’s facilities. Iran
Telecom’s Jafarpoor expressed hope that the deal would accelerate deployment of
data analytics, artificial intelligence, and high-speed communications across
Iran’s oil and petrochemical sectors.
Ansari-Nik added that the partnership aligns with the
company’s “New Bandar Imam” development agenda, underlining the strategic role
of telecom expertise in modernizing the facility’s technology framework.
The four-day exhibition, which opened Thursday, hosts
domestic and international firms in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries,
including tech startups and knowledge-based companies. It runs daily from 9
a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground.
