Hassan Abbaszadeh,
Deputy Petroleum Minister and CEO of NPC, visited the booths of several
upstream and downstream petrochemical companies, holding discussions with
senior executives about ongoing production projects, development plans and
future strategies.
Managers of
leading petrochemical holdings and private companies requested continued
government backing, particularly in securing stable feedstock supplies.
Abbaszadeh stressed the NPC’s commitment to supporting these enterprises across
all areas of activity.
During the tour,
Abbaszadeh visited the booths of Tadbir Energy Development Group, Shastan
Commercial Investment Company, Zagros Petrochemical Company and knowledge-based
firm Granule Morvarid Yazd. He praised the progress made by these companies in
developing local production capabilities.
At the Tadbir
Energy booth, Abbaszadeh received a briefing on Ghadeer Basir Petrochemical’s
operations in producing acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), a key polymer.
NPC aims to achieve national self-sufficiency in ABS production, Abbaszadeh
said.
Meanwhile,
Ghadeer Basir's marketing manager reported the company is currently producing
above its nominal capacity and targeting an annual output of 50,000 tonnes,
supported by the import of new extruders and equipment.
Abbaszadeh also
commended Shastan’s dual focus on upstream and downstream investments. Alireza
Roudbari, deputy CEO of Shastan, highlighted the company’s projects in Makran
Petrochemical Park, aiming to position it as Iran’s third major petrochemical
hub.
At Granule
Morvarid Yazd, Abbaszadeh lauded the company’s role in enhancing the
value-added chain through compounding technologies. The startup signed an
agreement with Bank Refah during the exhibition to finance its expansion
projects.
The NPC chief
concluded his visit with talks with Matin Didari, CEO of Zagros Petrochemical,
discussing the firm’s latest initiatives.
The 7th Iran Expo
runs from April 28 to May 2 at Tehran’s International Permanent Fairground,
showcasing Iranian capabilities in goods and technical services for global
export markets. The petrochemical sector's achievements are presented in four
key segments: methanol, urea, chemicals and polymers.
