TEHRAN (NIPNA) – Iran is ready to expand cooperation with African countries across all fields, President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Sunday, citing the continent’s vast capabilities and resources.

Speaking at the opening of the Third Iran-Africa Economic Cooperation Summit in Tehran, attended by representatives from 51 African nations, Pezeshkian offered condolences to the victims of a recent explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port and expressed hopes for the swift recovery of the injured.

“We live together on this small planet, divided by names like Africa, Asia, and America, but ultimately sharing the same earth,” Pezeshkian told the gathering at the Islamic Summit Conference Hall. “God has bestowed blessings upon us, and we should strive to benefit from them together.”

Quoting verses from the Quran, Pezeshkian emphasized humanity’s unity and called for justice, fairness, and the rejection of aggression. He criticized "greedy and aggressive groups" that, he said, violate the rights of others, expel populations, and commit atrocities under the guise of human civilization.

“Our belief in Iran is that we all come from a single origin and belong to one united community. Superiority lies only in humanity, capability, and service to others,” Pezeshkian said.

The president underscored Iran’s willingness to share its achievements in health, trade, industry, agriculture, security, and peace with African nations to help build a world of prosperity, peace, and security for all.

“We must extend helping hands, fostering a world filled with health, love, freedom, and humanity, instead of planting seeds of hatred and division,” he said.

Highlighting the role of brotherhood and compassion in creating a better world, Pezeshkian called for strengthened trade and cooperation. “We can build a future filled with love, mercy, and humanity for all peoples,” he added.

The summit, attended by Iran’s First Vice President, officials from the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, and senior African representatives, aims to deepen economic ties and explore new areas of cooperation.
