According to NIPNA, due to operational issues in the customs clearance process of chemical raw materials for Ghaed Basir Petrochemical Company, the imported cargo—comprising 1,020 tons of acrylonitrile—was released from Bandar Imam Khomeini Customs following a judicial order.
Mohammadreza Jafari Asl stated: “This shipment contained the chemical compound ‘acrylonitrile,’ which is one of the main feedstocks for the production line of Ghaed Basir Petrochemical Company. The continuation of the company’s production process depends on this material, and any delay in its supply could have disrupted operations, potentially halting the company’s activities and creating an employment crisis for over 2,300 workers, both directly and indirectly employed.”
The Prosecutor of Bandar Imam Khomeini emphasized the importance of supporting production activities, saying: “Given the significance of this shipment in the production cycle of a major industrial unit in the country, and to support the investment made in the production sector, the judiciary acted swiftly and issued the clearance order.”
He stressed: “Our duty is to facilitate the production process and prevent obstacles that may harm employment and the national economy. In this regard, timely judicial intervention ensured uninterrupted operations for this industrial unit.”
Jafari Asl added that the decisive and timely action by the judiciary aligns with the Judiciary’s macro policies in supporting investment in the production sector and the realization of the year’s national slogan. The prosecutor’s office aims to provide effective and targeted support to capable production units with a clear economic track record by removing operational and administrative barriers to ensure business continuity and job preservation.
He further stated: “Economic security and production stability require comprehensive coordination among executive, regulatory, and judicial bodies. The judiciary is fully committed to playing its role in this regard.”
It is worth noting that Ghaed Basir Petrochemical Company, located in Golpayegan County, has over 21 years of experience in producing ABS polymer. The company directly employs more than 370 people and indirectly provides employment for around 2,000 others, making it one of the country’s sustainable and impactful investments in the petrochemical industry.
