The achievement is the result of more than two decades of collaborative
conservation efforts. These have involved local communities, environmental
rangers, research teams, and NGOs, with sustained backing from Mobin Energy.
The Olive Ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea), listed as a vulnerable
species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), is one of
the smallest sea turtle species. Its return to Iran’s southern coastline is
seen as a strong indication of improving marine habitats in the Persian Gulf.
“The recording of this nesting event is a symbol of synergy between
industry and nature,” said Abdolrahman Moradzadeh, Director General of the
Bushehr Department of Environment. “Due to its complex life cycle and threats
like oil pollution, overfishing and climate change, the Olive Ridley requires
long-term protection.”
Nayband, along with the nearby Nakhilu and Omol-Gorm beaches, is one
of several key turtle nesting grounds in Bushehr Province. These areas have
long been the focus of conservation initiatives.
Mobin Energy has played a prominent role in these projects for over 15
years, particularly in preserving the habitat of marine turtles in the Persian
Gulf. The company said its involvement reflects its broader sustainability
strategy and its belief that environmental stewardship must be a core part of industrial
development.
“This latest success once again underscores that our commitment to
environmental and social responsibility is not just a slogan—it’s a strategic
imperative,” the company stated.
