TEHRAN (NIPNA) – The fifth session of the Coordinating Council for Public Relations Directors in Region II of Iran’s oil industry was held on Tuesday, with representatives from 60 affiliated companies electing their new council representative.

Hosted by the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization, the election ceremony emphasized the pivotal role of public relations in fostering synergy across the sector.

Mohammad Reza Moteyri, Managing Director of the host organization, highlighted the strategic importance of unified communications. “Continued collaboration among PR units can smooth the path for industry-wide development. Our organization stands ready to offer full support and cooperation in this regard,” he stated.

Moteyri also underscored the importance of fostering optimism within the oil and petrochemical sectors, noting that beyond routine duties, public relations teams must leverage the industry's existing capacities to increase their impact.

Alamdar Motavalli, Head of Public Relations at the National Iranian South Oil Company, pointed to the industry’s long-standing presence in Iran, remarking, “With over 117 years of history, oil industry PR departments are among the oldest in the country, with Khuzestan holding the most prominent share.”

He emphasized the sector’s legacy, calling PR offices in the oil industry “pioneers and inspirations” for other public institutions. “The current generation must honor this heritage by aligning with modern technologies and global knowledge trends,” he added.

Motavalli noted that effective collaboration, particularly in the realm of information dissemination, is key to highlighting the industry’s achievements.

Also speaking at the event, Mohsen Adibi, Head of PR at the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization, presented a report on the activities of the region’s public relations offices and reiterated the organization’s readiness to strengthen inter-sectoral cooperation.
