Amir Abbas Hosseini, addressing the 4th
Iranian Methanol Seminar, considered methanol as one of the strategic products
of the petrochemical industry, and said: "Purposeful and balanced development
of the petrochemical industry should be more on the agenda in order to meet the
raw material needs of domestic industries and enter global markets.”
He stressed that the study of global markets
and the coefficient of trade and the future of emerging markets for consumption
and production in the field of renewable energies indicates the need to develop
production of intermediate items to process materials needed in the polymer and
chemical industries.
Referring to the advantages of access to
methanol and relatively cheap energy in the country and the collective
perspective of methanol production, Hosseini said that the only way to succeed
is to have an aggressive view of entering export markets through the
development of a downstream methanol value chain.
