Martyr Tondgouyan to Start Production of PET Color Grade

TEHRAN (NIPNA) – Iran’s Martyr Tondgouyan Petrochemical Company is planning to supply PET color grade for the first time in the history of the country's petrochemical industry.

The caretaker of the plant said the production of textile PET grade yarn is on the company’s agenda with the aim of eliminating the need for imports, meeting the needs of complementary petrochemical industries and increasing the company's profitability.

Amin Malekzadeh underlined the diversification plans of his company, adding: “For the past two years, in accordance with the supply and demand of the market and with the aim of eliminating the need to import foreign products and grades, diversification of the production portfolio of this company has started.”

He said that in the current situation, technically, there is the possibility and annual production capacity of 60,000 tons of PET color grade textile yarn in this complex, adding: “In other words, in proportion to market potential and supply and demand in the petrochemical and textile complementary industries of the country, we will start the production and commercial supply of this new grade in the near future.”

Martyr Tondgouyan Petrochemical Plant is the largest producer of important and strategic products of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and pure terephthalic acid (PTA) in Iran.

This company, as the largest and only producer of polyethylene terephthalate chain products in the country's petrochemical industry, has an annual production capacity of more than 1,587,000 tons of various products with different PET grades.
