Farabi Petchem Plant Boosts Phthalic Anhydride Output by 90%

TEHRAN (NIPNA) – Iran’s Farabi Petrochemical Plant has managed to register a new record in the production of phthalic anhydride in the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 20.

According to the company, its production of the item rose by 90% in the first half of the year compared to the same period last year.

It supplied 9,667 tons of the item which showed a major growth from last year (5,092 tons).

The plant’s total output also rose by 47 percent in the first half of the year. This is while the company’s sales also rose by 52 percent during the period.

Phthalic anhydride is the main commercial form of phthalic acid. This colorless solid is an important industrial chemical, especially for the large-scale production of plastic lubricants.
