TEHRAN (NIPNA) – The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) said Iranian petrochemical complexes are allowed to export their items only after the domestic demand is fully met.

Behzad Mohammadi, who is also deputy petroleum minister for petrochemical affairs, on Tuesday, January 21, underlined NPC’s support for downstream industries, adding cooperation and interactions between petrochemical associations and guilds with the NPC as well as petrochemical holding companies and complexes could lead to the sustained supply of downstream industries.

He said, “We are trying to minimize the challenges of the complementary industries,” adding, “Investigating and analyzing the challenges and problems can improve the production process in downstream industries and facilitate the path of production boom.”

The deputy petroleum minister for petrochemical affairs continued: “Completing the value chain and reducing crude oil sales is an important strategy at NPC and therefore downstream industries can play a role in exporting end-user products in addition to meeting the domestic demand.”
