Then TEHRAN (Shana) – The Phase 2 of Takjt Jamshid Petrochemical Plant will render Iran needless of importing the raw materials needed for production of various type of rubber, the plant’s CEO says.

Addressing a ceremony to officially launch the second phase of Takt Jamshid Petrochemical Plant, Parviz Hamidi said on Tuesday that the plant’s production capacity for elastomers had reached 131,000 tons/year by inauguration of the phase.

Takht Jamshid Petrochemical Company has put this plan on its agenda in order to supply the required rubber polymers to the country, he said, adding: “From technical knowledge to the final stages of the second phase of the project were carried out by domestic experts of HNT Holding Company’s subsidiaries.”

Most of the equipment needed for this project were built with the capability of local companies.

“More than 90% of the equipment was provided by local manufacturers.”

He said the second phase of the plant was completed within a short period of 16 months.

Launching the project, besides covering the domestic needs of the country in the automotive sector, home appliances, sports equipment and so on, would make exports possible, hence generating wealth for the country.

According to him, the plant was environmentally friendly and would not cause any pollution.
